Microsoft Outlook Error Message

G

Guest

I am running Microsoft Outlook 2000. Several weeks ago I downloaded what I
thought was a legitimate spam blocker program. It turned out to be some
bogus program that caused more spam, not less. I removed the program by
going into Add/Remove programs. I then removed it from my folder files. I
then did a system restore to an earlier time yet I am still getting the
following message every time I reboot and go into Outlook:

The add-in "C:\Program Files\SpamBlocker
Utility\Bin\4.8.4.0\Redemption.d..."could not be installed or loaded. This
problem may be resolved by using Detect and Repair on the Help menu. Unalbe
to load "C:\Program Files\SpamBlocker Utility\Bin\..."You may be out of
memory, out of system resources, or missing a dll file.

Any suggestions on how to get rid of this annoying pop up every time I go
into Outlook? Please be specific. After all, if I knew much about
computers, I wouldn't be in this predicament in the first place.

Thank you for your help.

See if there is still a reference to Redemption in Tools-> Options-> Tab
Other-> Advanced Options-> COM Add-Ins/Add-In Manager

If not locate extend.dat and rename it to .old
If it still gives you an error locate extend.dat and rename it to .old

No, that newsgroup is targeted to people developing add-ins. It's not meant
for fixing uninstall issues of 3rd party addins.
