microsoft office xp professional problem

when I start my computer, word automatically starts up and I get an error
message saying it can't read the language, there is a faulty file in here
somewhere but don' tknow how to stop word from trying to open up
automatically...it's causing problem

Hmm... prematurely hit Send there...

Anyway, enter msconfig and press Enter. In that program, go to the Startup
tab and look for WinWord.exe. If it's there, uncheck it to disable the
automatic startup.

If this is Windows 2000, you won't have the msconfig program. In that case,
look in the following places for a reference to Word or WinWord.exe:

- C:\Documents and Settings\<your name>\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
- C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
- the Startup folders for any other users, such as Administrator
- in the registry, as a value in the keys
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
