Microsoft Office Outlook won't open

I try to open Outlook, still on Windows XP. The program loads, but
immediately it opens a message comes up on screen .... "Business Contact
Manager has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for any
inconvenience."
Outlook then closes, unable to access emails on file. Its a continual
round-a-bout of trying to open and crashes. I don't use BCM, never had?

I have checked Microsoft for updates, my computer is up to-date. How can I
either turn this off so I can access my emails, or fix to stop it from
crashing?

You can uninstall BCM if you don't use it.
To remove it from your mail profile use;
Control Panel-> Mail-> button E-mail Accounts...

Roady, I follow those prompts, it comes up 'view or change email accounts' or
'view and add a new or existing directory' , I select change email accounts
this and all it allows me to do is to edit my email address, log on details
or server details .... I'm sorry, but I can't see where I actually turn it
off ??

What does this have to do with BCM not loading correctly? The fix depends
on whether or not the person actually uses it - if not, uninstalling it is
the best option.

Yeah, they (or someone else!) put it on in the first place. That is what I
was getting at. I don't have it...

Did you inherit this computer from someone else? Or, somewhere else?
