I am currently running Outlook 2007 and when I click on to view the item
attachment I am unable to preview. The error message says: This file cannot
be previewed becuase of an error with the following previewer: Microsoft
Office Outlook Message and item previewer. Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks

Even I'm facing the same issue since 5-Nov-2007. Is this because of any
patches/updates?

Google Desktop is causing the problem with Outlook Previewer. After
unistalling the Google Desktop program from my system the Outlook
Previewer resume normal operation.

I'm not certain that it's Google related as I have Google. I had this happen
to me once, and all I did was close Outlook then reopen it again and the
previewer started working again just fine.

I agree that it is not Google -- mine started after I downloaded Microsoft
Updates. No changes have been made to my Google. Starting and restarting
does not help! I am getting very frustrated wth Microsoft 2007 all programs
-- I wish I had XP back!

If you have downloaded the google desktop please uninstall it and this will
fix the issue or try creating a new windows user account

I use Google Desktop all the time! If I have to make a choice between Google
Desktop and reading the message attachments, I'd prefer to keep Google. Why
would Microsoft create an update that requires me to delete another program?

The fault lies with Google, not Microsoft. It's not Microsoft's job to make
sure Google software keep running.

I've read on other threads that you can remove the Google Desktop COM-
Addin for Outlook. This doesn't help for me at all. What I found that
worked is that if you Disable Indexing for Google Desktop. Just goto
Control Panel -> Programs -> Uninstall Google Desktop and the Google
Desktop uninstaller will give you a menu that will alllow you to
Disable Indexing only.

Disabling Goggle's Indexing option in thru "Add/Remove" solved the problem
for me as well. (Outlook 2007 also loads much faster now.)
