Microsoft Office Drawing Object

I have pasted a Microsoft Office Drawing Object into my Word document. It appears at the top of the page. When I try to move it vertically on the page it does not leave its original position after I let go of the mouse even though the dotted lines outlining the object are moving as I move the four way arrow. Is there another way to move this vertically on the page? Thanks for your assistance

Which version of Word do you have?

Have you formatted the object as "Inline with the text" or with a text flow formatting? If the formater, then you need to do the lattter before you can move it freely on th epage.
