Hi. This is a relatively old post but I have a question about the updates to
3.5. Seemed like my computer ran a lot slower after installing, so I
uninstalled them. Other thing is, my microsoft updates slowed down to almost
zero after they were installed. After I uninstalled them, it works again.

I have an older pc but it is working really fast now. (without the updates)
Also, I just yesterday upgraded my windows live mail desktop. Initially it
ran slow but this morning everything is humming along at a clip.

Two questions: WHY and Has anybody else investigated this?

What is there to investigate? It is generally true. Keep adding more
code and the only way to go is usually slower. Just look at Vista and
Windows 7 on a non-powerful system? Even at idle, I often see 20% or
more CPU use. Unlike Windows 2000/XP which is often next to nothing.
