News group MODs, I'd posted my problem 2 days ago and did not get any help
yet.
Could you please find a solution to my problem below..???

PROBLEM: JPEG images are distorted when displayed by Microsoft Internet
Explorer 6.0

JPEG images are distorted when I view web sites.

MPEG Video Clip colours are distorted. I can't see the movie.

I have epox 8kta3 mobo / radeon 7000 card / win98 se. / athlon 1.2 ghz CPU
with 256 mb SDRAM
When I go to internet explorer web sites , all the jpg pictures comes up
scrambled.
I mean, there are colored dots instead of picture.
I can't see any pictures on web page.
But with irfanview image editor, I can see the jpg pictures without problem.
if I play videos on windows media player, pictures are scrambled again..
I'd reinstalled win98SE 2 times!! After reinstalling win98SE before the
installotion on video card, jpg pictures are scrambled even on VGA mode on
the internet explorer web
sites....
I'd downloaded all the updates for win98 and radeon video card.
I'd chose optimum settings at bios and problem won't go away.
I'd checked internet explorer options and problem is same.
what else I can do??????
please help meeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try this: Repair Internet Explorer.

Click Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Information. Right
Click System Information and put a shortcut to it on your desktop. There
are several utilities in it that are useful.

Click the System Information shortcut on your desktop, Click Tools, then
Click Internet Explorer Repair Tool.

Choose Repair Internet Explorer and follow the on-screen instructions.

Tarik,
A few things to try...
- - - -
If you are on dial up and are using some sort of Internet Accelerator, try
disabling that.

How to Activate Scaling
Internet Explorer 6 and later automatically adjusts the scale on higher
resolution systems when the DPI setting is higher than 96 DPI and the
"UseHR" registry value is added to the registry. These are usually done by
the manufacturers of higher resolution systems.

Set the DPI
These are the steps for changing the DPI setting on your system.

Right-click the Windows desktop to display the context menu.
Click Properties on the context menu to display the Display Properties
dialog.
Click the Settings tab on the Display Properties dialog to display the
Settings tab.
Click the Advanced button on the Settings tab to display the monitor
properties dialog.
Select a DPI setting in the Display frame of the monitor properties dialog
to change the DPI setting.
Restart your system to allow the changes to take effect.

Run REGEDIT to add the UseHR Registry Entry
The UseHR value is added to the Main key under "Internet Explorer" as
follows:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Software
Microsoft
Internet Explorer
Main
UseHR= dword:00000001

Hope this helps,
Don
