Microsoft Lili (and other voices)

P

Peter Anthony

I have recently bought a Vista laptop to do speech recognition development
using VS VC++ 2008 /CLI. It comes with 'Microsoft Anna' as it's only voice.

I would like to add many voices to test my software. I have a menu in my
application to choice a text-to-speech voice, but hard to tell if it works
when there is only one voice to choose from! For example, I want 'Microsoft
Lili' and 'Microsoft Sam'.

But I have been asking for WEEKS in the MS Vista and MS Speech newsgroups,
and have not gotten even one reply.

Sooo, since this is for development purposes, I'll now ask here. Where do I
get and how do I install new voices for my machine? Hopefully for free, but
I could also pay for them if not too expensive. If there is a source on the
web, I'd prefer the download locations be from MS websites, as I'm a bit
afraid on 3rd party stuff gotten for 'free' from the web...

Thanks in advance! :)

The ones you get with Vista are free of course but voices (good ones
cost $$$).
Look here for example
