microsoft internet explorer

I have cable modem and previously was able to use IE ,however i can not get
it to work now - when i try to open it -it will shut right away - i have ran
my virus scan thoroughly through my pc and nothing- i can surf the internrt
just fine on msn but my E-mail is through mediacom and they only go through
IE - i haven't been able to check my E-mail at all.please help !!!!!
