Can someone help me how to manage when a fax document cannot be displayed
because my operating system does not have a default viewer for fax documents
(.tif files). thanks in advance, Oder.

If all you need is something to view *.tif file, go to
www.irfanview.com and download Irfanview, a free, *very* good image
viewer.

Thankyou very much indeed for your information.
But I would like to restore theWindows Fax and Image Viewer as the default.
Do you know how to manage?
Thanks again, Oder.

oder,

right click a tif image > Open with > Choose Program... Then scroll down the
list to locate and highlight the Fax Viewer. Check the "Always use the
selected program..." checkbox, and click OK.

However, if Fax Viewer isn't in there, from Windows Explorer's Tools menu
click Folder Options and go to the File Types tab. Scroll down the list to
locate and highlight the tif extension, then click Advanced button,
highlight Open action, and finally click Edit button. Fill the fields as
follows:

Application used...: rundll32.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\shimgvw.dll,ImageView_Fullscreen %1
Use DDE (check)
Application: shimgvw
Topic: System

Save and Close all dialog boxes.

NOTES
--------
1. I assume that Windows are in their default installation path
(C:\WINDOWS). If not, please edit the path accordingly.
2. There are empty spaces in the path, after "rundll32.exe" and
"_Fullscreen".
