Microsoft Excel hanging

Hi,

I am running Excel 2007 on XP. When I do various tasks Excel hangs but generally only the first time.

For example when changing a cell to be bold it hangs for around a minute.

I have a found a workaround which works everytime. This is to disable my wireless connection to the internet and therefore I guess this is the cause of the problem.

I have similar issues with Word.

Please can anyone help as it is driving me crazy.
