Microsoft DV camera and VCR

Any resolution to this issue. Dozens of posts here, but no answers. XP is not recognizing my camcorder. The display on the unit (Sony TRV 350) reads "DV IN", but I get a capture error when trying to bring in the video through the 1394 port using Pinnacle Studio 8. ANy help out there?
 
well u have to go into ur camera settings and change it to USB on instead of off! this might be your problem
