Microsoft Crash Analysis

Hi
Below is a Microsoft crash analysis report that I received yesterday. At the
NVIDIA link I found the following:

"Before installing new drivers make sure you uninstall all NVIDIA display
drivers from the Windows Control Panel. Browse to the Start Menu > Windows
Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and search for "NVIDIA Windows Display
Drivers" or "NVIDIA Display Drivers" and select remove. "

My question is: if I remove the Display Drivers, will this action cause my
system to stop functioning and prevent me from operating properly and
installing the new Display Driver? Thanks for your help.

Firewire,

I have used many nvidia cards over the years. I've never had a problem
removing the old nvidia driver, restarting my system, and then installing the
new driver. Your resolution may be a little off while you install the new
driver, but this is normal.

Firewire,
To add to the last response, I, too, have faced that question. As it turned
out, I needn't have worried. You uninstall the drivers and Windows installs
either "generic" drivers or--as in my case--Nvidia drivers from its own
database. The screen resolution is very low, so your Desktop looks all
skewed. No problem. Just go back and reset the screen resolution that you
are used to.
