Microsoft AntiSpyware deleted all my Kazaa shared files!

Hi,

I used Microsoft AntiSpyware Beta 1 to remove Kazaa. But it
didn't just remove the executable, it also removed all the
mp3s in my Shared Folder!

Then I tried to undo it by restoring the System Restore
point. That put back the Kazaa executables, DLLs, registry
keys, etc., but my MP3s were still all gone!

Microsoft should fix this -- if I choose "Remove Kazaa", it
should only remove the executables, not non-executable
files (e.g. MP3s, WMAs, WMVs, etc.) in My Shared Folder!

Sincerely,
Very Annoyed

This happens occasionally or more often with Kazaa.
The fix seems to be restore the lost data with your back-ups.
Also remember this is Beta with all the risks associated with any Beta.

MS AntiSpyware isn't the only one that does that. I've cleaned Kazaa off
many customers' computers, and I learned a long time ago to copy all the
files out of the Shared Files folder to another folder before proceeding
with the cleanup.

This is general issue with peer to peer programs and AntiSpyware, because
they usual suspects for harbouring spyware, viruses and trojans. Back up to
another folder or use a different location on your PC than the default Kazaa
shared folder.

You sound like a complete idiot. Telling a program to
remove another, and then being annoyed when all associated
files are removed makes you sound like a dumbass. You
either know nothing about how to operate a computer, or
just don't care to learn. And Kazaa is loaded with spyware
anyway. Your .mp3's are 86'd, so deal with it.
