Microsoft Antispyware (Beta 1)

I find this program has little or no effect. If I turn off
Spyware Doctor, my default spayware program, Microsofts
Antispyware (Beta 1) fails to stop or even recognize the
intruders. What's up with that? I start Spayware Doctor
again it picks them out and deletes them quickly. I find
no sttings in Microsoft Spyware that are not turned on or
otherwise active. Does this program work for anyone?

That is a very interesting - I uninstalled Spyware Doctor because it sat
idle ever since I installed MSAS. Do you know what exactly it's detecting?
Could it be cookies by chance? MSAS does not detect or block cookies - thus
far.

I would suggest you continue to run them in tandem - it is recommended that
you run more than one anti-spyware program for best protection anyway.

Yes it finds alot of cookies but also registery entries
from C-Dilla and Altnet Software. Maybe I don't ahve any
spyware on my system. I also use Adaware for periodic
scans and have three firewalls, one through Norton, one
Microsoft from SVC Pack 2 and once in my router.

Thanks for the reply.

Its best to run scans using MSAS in Safe Mode using full system scans. On
the Scan Page, choose Scan Options Full System Scan. Also ensure your
Spyware definitions are up to date and you are using the latest build. .509

As A. McGuire said, MSAS is still in beta and beta 2 in the works, so this
product is still in its infancy and will only get better with your feedback.

No....I don't think so...I downloaded it to get my speed
back up and it found 32 detectables...but try to remove
them and it just locks up and does nothing...the spyware
seems to defeat it.
