microsoft anti-spyware beta 1

Brian

Is there anyway to adjust the settings for microsoft anti-
spyware beta 1 so that it will always block any unknown
application trying to install? I keep receiving the
popup on the bottom right-hand side and I'd like to stop
the manual blocking and allow the computer to do it
automatically. Meanwhile, I'm still trying to remove the
trojan downloader from my computer....

Thanks,

Not a good idea to automatically block things trying to
install. Imagine you are installing a new application,
and MSAS blocks its installation, possibly corrupting
data and maybe even crashing Windows. It's best to allow
the user to make these decisions. NEVER let a program
decide what to do, as someone might gain control of that
program and use it against you.

As for the Trojan downloader, do you have a current AV
program like Norton or McAfee installed, as they can
remove many Trojans? Also, running a full system scan in
Safe Mode (F8 when booting/rebooting before Windows
screen) might help get the job done.
