I turned on my voice recognition software on my windows
xp system, and now i can't turn it off, When i try to
type stuff in, it picks up the background noise and
messes me up,
How to i turn off the voice recognition and the
microphone so i can type stuff in without getting mad?

Please Help!!

Open the sounds application in control panel, put the volume
icon in the system tray. Then you can right click to open
the volume control. Mute the mic.

If you have MS Office XP installed, go to Tools in MS Word and then select
speech.. by manipulating settings, you should be able to stop the problem..

Putting the volume Icon in the system tray does work as
the other post suggests but I found it best to have a mic
with and on\off switch and just turn the mic off when not
using it. I hate cluttered system trays. Keep smiling.
