Hi,
If you have a normal microphone, with a stereo jack, it does not need to be
recognised by the OS. Simply plug in the Mic in the Mic jack in your sound
card, and it will start working. You might also want to check the
sound/recording settings by double clicking on the speaker icon in the
notification area.
