Micronet SP755A Print Server working with XP

I've set up my XP based PC to work with a HP OfficeJet G55, linked through a
Micronet SP755A Print Server. The XP PC is configured to us the TCP/IP
protocol.

I cannot print over the server unless I send the print server through an
"initializing routine" (basically unplug the server from the power supply and
reconnect it). After this procedure I can print.

Who can help me to get around this "initializing routine"?
