How can I get my meta tags to work. I have followed the insturctions in help
in Front Page and they still do not show up in my code and if I view the
source of the page on the web, on line they are not in the code. So I am on
able to bring my site up in any search engines. What am I doing wrong or not
doing?

Try adding them in HTML / Code View.

Search engines these days pretty much ignore "keywords" and "description"
meta tags, instead they scan the "actual" content of the pages for keywords.

Just to point out - you're right about keywords but description tags are
very important not for ranking but because they provide the text that
appears under your url in the search results so they need to be good.
