Messenger

I upgraded the new messenger as asked and i keep getting the old one pop up also saying when i log sign off etc that i have signed on on a diff comp...??? So then i get 2 messenger icons pop up in my task bar! i keep clickong on 'exit' on the old one but a couple of days later it pops up again..why???
