messenger service gone!!

When I go to administrative tools/services, messenger is no longer there. I
have therefore lost all networking ability. Also floppy and CD-ROM drives
now only say "disc is not formatted, would you like to format the disc," when
media is introduced.

When I go to administrative tools/services, messenger is no longer
there. I have therefore lost all networking ability. Also floppy
and CD-ROM drives now only say "disc is not formatted, would you like
to format the disc," when media is introduced.

The messenger service isn't related to your network...although if it isn't
there it may be due to an underlying network problem (effect, rather than
cause).

I think you may have some hardware problems, but check your event logs for
errors.
