"MESSENGER" pop-ups

I have the XP firewall, and I use the Pop-Up Stopper, but
some of those pesky "Messenger" (wet sandy brown color)
pop-ups still appear.
Isin't there a way to go in and change the configuration
that will block these.?

start>control panel> admin tools>services>list of

programs L/hand side>scroll down to messenger>R/click on
messenger>in general box>go down to start up type>drop
down box> auto/ manaul/ disable> choose DISABLE Should
stop thosepesky pop ups

I got round it by using Norton Personal Firewall to block incoming UDP
transmissions. Prior to that I was getting spammed every 20 minutes.
