Messenger not working vista & network

Hi Guys,
I am having trouble logging into MSN on my Windows Vista PC. on the network
i can log in with my laptop which runs XP but am unable to on my PC.

Can anyone Help!!!!!
 
Have you checked the Windows Firewall to see if its blocked? Make sure its
an exception.

Probably want to post this in the following ng too:
microsoft.public.windows.live.messenger
 
Hi Andre, thanks, i checked the firewall and actually turned it off to try
it. it still is unable to log in, the error code is 81000306 if this helps.

Try turning off your windows firewall and windows defender in Vista. My
laptop is centrino duo so after I turned off the windows firewall, windows
defender and automatic lan THEN I could sign into messenger.
