Messenger 4.7 video problem

I am trying to setup a Messenger video connection with a
remote system -- I can see and hear the remote, but the
remote cannot see or hear me.

Everything except output video from my system works --
connection invitation/acceptance, typing messages, etc.

My setup: Win XP Pro (SP1), Messenger 4.7 (just updated),
Linksys BEFR41 Router (firmware 1.46.02 (latest)), UPnP
enabled and open ports per Paragraph 6 of KB article
324214 (article seems to be exactly my problem & setup),
Creative WebCam NX Ultra.

Remote setup: Win XP Home (SP1) with cable modem (e.g. no
router) with same WenCam.

WebCam works in local mode (I can see myself), Messenger
Password.NET seems to work okay. Results are the same
with and without my Firewall being active.

It is not clear to me whether I am not sending properly
or the remote is not accepting the video.

Any ideas.

I have wondered whose fault it is. Since ya don't actually
need to have a webcam installed to receive webcam images,
I tend to think it is your fault. You could have him test with
somebody else and see if he gets video. If he does then it
is your fault. If you both have XP then you can try
video-conferencing (not webcam) which works more like the audio
which you say does work. Webcam is supposed to be simple,
because it has a fallback relay server to rely upon.

Or if you can't send webcam to somebody else who normally
can receive webcam images then the problem stems from your end.
This is probably the best first approach because you need to
find out if your webcam model is supported. I think Yahoo
Messenger has some diagnostic tools online just to see if
your webcam is sending but that requires installing YM.

Have your run the audio/video tuning wizard (under Tools) in MSN 6.2
to make sure you can see yourself in the camera phase of the test?
