Hello helpers
I messed up my DUAL BOOT XP32 & XP64
When i installed XP for my new AMD X2 core, i had 2 physical harddrives
present.
PRIMARY IDE MASTER 40 gig MAXTOR (C:\)
PRIMARY SATA 160 gig MAXTOR (D:\)
As i installed Windows XP32, I partitioned MAXTOR 40 gig into 10.00 gig
(primary) and left the rest unused.
When i installed Windows XP64, i used the MAXTOR 40 gig, and
partitioned another 10.00 gig. (extended)
When booting into Windows 64, owing to accessing the SATA in Windows
XP32, the BOOT letter for XP 64 became E:/
- no problem there..
Whilst running Windows XP 64 i entered the Registry, and manipulated
the following key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\MountedDevices
- to reflect that i wanted E:\ to become B:\ , so RENAMED E:\ - to B:\
(as i have read in various help files)
When i try to boot the XP 64 volume, i can only reach the Welcome
screen, and i recognise that XP 64 cannot access Winlogin.exe as the
boot volume has been changed.
How can i access the XP 64 registry to re-edit this key.
I remember doing this on other systems, and trying to use Windows
Repair, but i think it returns the same results..
