Messages remain in Outbox

When I send an email the message does get sent but the email remains in my
outbox like it was not sent. It is annoying because everytime I shutdown
Outlook it ask me if I am sure... because there are messages in my Outbox.

I know the emails are being sent because I get replies from the people I am
sending them too. I have also sent emails to my work address and they go
through just fine.

Often caused by scanning outgoing messages with an antivirus scanner.
