Messages in Folders appear twice!

Outlook 98 - I have set up rules for messages from certain senders or with
certain words in the subject to be directed to a specific folder. Some of
these messages appear in the folder twice. Any idea how to stop this?

If you have two rules the criteria for both of which one message matches, if
they don't say "and stop processing more rules", you can see the effect you
see.
