Messages Import error

When I try to import my messages from Outlook into windows mail I get the
following error:

Messages cannot be imported from the MAPI client. An error has occured.

Can anybody help me?

Do you have Outlook installed under Vista, where it is also known as the
MAPI client? Windows Mail needs a part of it to be able to import .pst
files. Version 2003 and more recent run well under Vista. Version 2002
runs, but with a few problems.

If you don't have Outlook on your new computer, you can also import
the messages from Outlook to Outlook Express on your old computer,
then import them from Outlook Express to Windows Mail.

After you copy the .dbx files to your new computer, but before you
import them into Windows Mail, check to make sure that the copies
are read-write, not readonly.

I do not have Outlook in my new computer, I am going to try the import in my
old computer.
