Messages getting stuck in the Outbox on Exchange Server

Outlook 2000
Windows 2000

Messages are getting stuck in the Outbox with Exchange Server. Send/Receive
will deliver them but I don't want to click on Send/Receive each time.

There is an option to send outgoing messages straight away. On OL2000 it's
Tools | Options | Mail delivery, check the 'end messages when connected'.
