messages don't show in Inbox

B

Birdy

Using Trend Micro PC-cillin, with anti-virus for email disabled. Problem
just started a couple of days ago. I had made no changes to my system, and
even tried going back to a restore point where Windows Mail had been
working - no help.

Absolutely nothing shows up in my Inbox - the file pane shows that there are
messages present - and even incoming mail is "invisible". This has caused me
to lose all of my previously received email messages, as even importing all
of my account info, included stored messages into Windows Live Mail hasn't
restored them.

Any suggestion? Well, besides the obvious - dump Vista!

Thanks,
Birdy

Dumping Vista is not "the obvious", Dumping Trend very definitely IS the
obvious! A recent version of the Trend antivirus program is one of the
three antivirus programs that cause the most problems in Windows Mail. Just
disabling part or all of it seldom helps; you usually have to uninstall it
instead, then do a custom re-install WITHOUT any of the email scanning
modules/features. You do NOT need email scanning regardless of which
Antivirus application you have or get. Email scanning is redundant, it does
nothing but create problems where none exist, and your system is FULLY
protected without it, provided you keep the resident file system scanner up
to date

Shouldn't save things in the Inbox anyway.
