I tried to switch all messages, contacts from Express to Outlook 2003. Same
computer. Followed the directions, but only the contacts and rules
transferred, no messages. Any other way I can move them? I need to do
something because I have some kinks in Express.

State the directions you followed. Works fine here.

From file menu, chose import export, chose import internet mail, chose
outlook, chose finish. Message is, O of x messages sent.

From Outlook Express (not Outlook), open the File menu, Export and choose to
export into Outlook. If you try to import from Outlook, you'll lose the
dates on all of your messages.

Sgt Rich is correct. Exporting from OE is a better approach.
But Outlook should still import the messages.
Clarify the details. "Outlook" is not a choice for importing.
Do you have messages folders that match? Are you certain that you are
accessing an installation of OE that even has messages?
