Message when Loading Office Outlook 2007

Everytime I load Outlook I get the following message in a window:

"An extension failed to initialize. Cannot open file extend.dat. the file
may not exist, you may not have permission to open it, or it may be open in
another program. Right-click the folder that contains the file, and then
click properties for the folder. You don't have appropriate permission to
perform this operation."

I am unable to locate this file. What can i do to get rid of this message -
it does get annoying?

If the answer is re-install Outlook:
what happens to all the data (.pst files etc.)?
Office 2007 came pre-installed on my computer and all I have is the licence
#, so what do I do if I have to re-install?

Thanks,

Alan

Don't do a search but go directly to the path indicated in the link I gave
you. Type it in the address bar if needed.

Thanks Robert. I followed the link and found an extend file - renamed it to
extend.old and it worked! What a relief. Thanks again. Alan

The link was right in the very message you quoted. Please read the messages
you reply to.

Also, don't post your real address in a newsgroup unless you don't mind
spammers harvesting it.
