Hello All,

I just installed Office 2007 and when I open Outlook 2007 I receive he
following error. " An extension failed to initialize. Cannot open file:
extend.dat. The file may not exist, you may not have permission to open it,
or it may be open in another program. Right-click the folder that contains
the file, and then click Properties to check your permissions for the folder.
You don't have appropriate permission to perform this operation." If I hit
OK I can get into Outlook but then it tells me my data files wasn't closed
properly and it is checkin to make sure there weren't any errors.

I can't seem to find where I can change permissions on the file properties.

Any help you can give is greatly appreciated.

Close Outlook, search your hard drive for the extend.dat file (make sure you
search within hidden folders), and rename it to extend.old. When you reopen
Outlook, all should be well.
