message stuck in outbox

Sent a msg yesterday; stuck in outbox;tried
troubleshooting through microsoft support; got nowhere;
cannot send, delete or open message; cannot send or
receive other messages;
 
try dragging it back to the inbox, (ie move it from the
outbox to the inbox) then open it and press send again.

I have noticed that if something interupts the delivery
and I open the outbox and just select the message there,
it gets in a state where outlook never tries to send it
again. Moving it back to the inbox and resending it resets
this.
