Message on start up

When XP (Home Addition) starts I always get the following
message

The application or DLL C:\Windows\system32\MSCTF.DLLis
not valid Windows Image Please check against Installation
Disc
I have put the disc into the base unit but cannot see
anything to help

As I am new to this

Hello,

Place your Windows CD in the drive and choose Start, Run, SFC /SCANNOW.
This will scan your system for default system files.
