I often get a window that says, "Internet Shield has noticed an

I don't know if I should press "Allow" or "Deny".
The message also says that pressing "Allow" could be dangerous.

Keep pressing Deny until and unless you determine it's real or even
anything you want, which is very unlikely. More likely is someone has
found their way part way into your machine and wants you to complete the
access and give permission for it; especially since you apparently
didn't just install anything and didn't expect such a message and the
time period over which you seem to have been getting it.
AS a general rule, there is seldom any reason to allow anything to
act as a server.
If you have a 'Deny forever' option, I'd use that but first take down
all the informaiton you can get about the access source just in case it
should be meaningful in the future, as in you've forgotten why you'd
want it. Doubtful you want it, but stranger things have sometimes
happened.
If you don't have a permanent deny option:
I don't know what "Internet Shield" is, but if you could find an IP or
domain name from Internet Shield's message or possibly your firewall
log, you could block that domain (not the IP; it may change) in your
firewall, should you not have a 'Deny forever' setting for your
firewall.
