I am using Windows XP with SP2.
I am having a problem with Internet Information Services.
In Internet Explorer I put in http://localhost and receive the following
error:

SERVER APPLICATION ERROR
The server has encountered an error while loading an application during
processing your request.
Please refer to the event log for more detailed information.

When I check the error in the event log the Source was DCOM

Any suggestion to correct this would be appreciated. I am trying to use a
program that requires IIS to funciton properly and at the present time it is
not working.

Hi hank,
Did you installed the IIS ( Internet Information Services) from the
Add/Remove components in control panel and start the service in services
control panel?.
