Message in inbox deleting when delete message in Delete folder

This just started to occur. As I was deleting messages in the Delete Folder
I found Inbox messages were also being deleted. Most current messages in
Inbox were being deleted. How can this be stopped. Why is it occurring?

There is no connection between the two folders. You may have changed
the Inbox view to "Hide Read Messages".
Make sure each folder has its current view' set to 'Show All Messages".
