Message about "Serious error"

On a Windows XP SP1 machine with 8 users every time I log on as
Administrator I get the message, Windows logon has experienced a serious
error. The message will come on about four or five times and then go away
and I can continue. It always asks if I want to send report to Microsoft.
Any hints on what may be happening?
