merging comments

I have 2 documents, originally they were identical, but
in both documents 2 people have added comments. Now i
want to merge the 2 documents to have 1 document with all
the comments from both people. The standard word-merge
seems just to work for tracked changes and not for
comments, can anybody help?

Hi Marc

What version of Word do you have?

In Word 2003, I can do the following. Create two documents by two different
authors, each of which contains comments. Open one document. Tools > Compare
and Merge Documents. Choose the other document. Click Merge.

I get one document with two lots of comments, properly attributed to the
correct authors.

Is that not what you're seeing?
