merge with MS Word

A data field in Access calculated using =IIf will not merge with MS word.
What am I doing wrong?

How are you constructing the data field?

If your data field is calculated in a Query and named Expr1 (for example),
you should be able to select the query as your data source (in MS Word) and
then insert Expr1 into your Word document (using the "Insert Merge Fields"
icon from the MailMerge toolbar).
