On a ThinkPad laptop, running a completely up-to-date XP system, the same
Explorer window pops up at every logon. It's open at "C:\Program
Files\Common Files\Microsoft", which contains only the empty folder "Merge
Modules". It appears for each logon ID. The state of Explorer's "Restore
previous windows at logon" setting makes no difference. The only thing on
the Startup menu is "Microsoft Office", and I cannot find any instances of
that folder in the registry, win.ini, or system.ini. Any ideas what's
causing it, because it's driving me nuts?
Thanks,
