The menus on my Windows 2000 system are ghosting. The
screen displays my selction even after action is complete.
As an example, if I select minimize window for an
application window from the taskbar, a faint display of
the selction still persists for abot 15s. Does anyone have
any idea what might be causing this?

This happens every time you try to minimize a window?

Have you tried to update the driver of your grahic-adapter?

Yup,

I have taken care of the usual suspects: got the latest
driver, modified the display frequency. I think I have
started having this problem after a windows update.
Its not just minimize, this happens every time I use
system menus, from the task bar or the title bar (restore,
minimize, maximize..).

Have you tried turning off all the visual
enhancements such as "fade" etc.?
I'm curious if that helps or whether the
problem is something else entirely.
