Menu Editor

Is there any way to edit the dropdown menus issued by Windows XP (SP2)? In
particular, I would like to be able to add, rename and/or delete the menu
selections, especially for menu selections for the "Open with" when a file is
right-clicked in Windows Explorer.

I am sure that there are menu editors available on the web, but I hesitate
to just download and install any software out there. Is there a way in
Windows (preferable), or does Microsoft have a menu editor (OK). As an
alternative, can anyone recommend any freeware for this?

Many thanks for your suggestions.
