My motherboard says i can use up to 400Mhz memory(max
2Gb),i have got 2 spare 433Mhz Twin X memory modules and
would like to put it in but are they compatable with
motherboard,if so do i need to change any settings in
BIOS.thanks for help

Hello

No, just plug them in and good, most of the time it will work
but some mother boards are particular about memory, look
in oyur manual, but your board should be able to handle it.

Hello Messe,

You should be able to plug them in as the previous post said, the
motherboard should just clock them down to 400mhz. If it doesn't work at
first try switching which slot you have the ram plugged into largest/fastest
first, smallest slowest last.

To further that, my motherboard claims the fastest memory it supports is
DDR400, but it runs DDR500 without a single problem. You will probably
see the same thing on your computer ;)

Motherboard manufacturer's cannot claim support for DDR433 since it is
not a standardized memory speed. There are a bunch of regulations
around it, but it should still work fine. Even if the motherboard does
limit the speed to 400 MHz somehow, it will still work as the 433 MHz is
simply a rating meaning the memory can run at up to that speed, but it
is backwards compatible and can run at just about any speed lower than
that ;)
