Memory sticks problems

I have 2 USB memory sticks : 1 FUJI-SIEMENS (16 MB)+ 1 HP(32 MB). When the
HP is connected BEFORE boot, XP doesn'l load, it stops (blocks) with the
initial Intel screen (Momo is Intel, CPU is an Itranium). When I pull it
off, the boot continues. This doesn't happens with the FSC memory stick. Can
somebody help me? For information: this problem doesn't occur on my W2000
based laptop.

Could your bios be set to boot from USB. If the memory stick doesn't have
boot info I assume it would hang.

Neil,
My CPU is an Itanium processor that doesn't have (apperently ) a bios but a
EFI (I quote what I read in MS help and support: Instead of a BIOS,
computers with the Intel Itanium family of processors use the Extensible
Firmware Interface (EFI) between the computer's firmware, hardware, and the
operating system). So I never succedeed to access bios and check the
settings. Can you advice me.

No sorry, my experience is with standard PCs with bios only. I only asked
because I know some USB memory sticks are bootable devices therefore I
wondered if the system was trying to use the USB to start the system.
