Memory-RAM Problems

I have a "virtual memory minimum too low" message. I did increase window page file size but I know I need to install more RAM. I will do that when my classes are out in June, but is there anything I can temporarily do to help the situation? Should I try to delete programs? I have photos on my computer, should I take those off or does that only affect hard disc space? Thanks!

Any data only affects hd space.
How much ram due you have? and how much hd free space do you have?
You may have too many apps loading on start up, many of these may have a
properties window to stop loading on startup.

I have a 55.8 GB hard drive with 46.1GB free. The memory is 255 MB and 55% utilized. I will look at the application's properties to see if I can stop them from loading at start up. Thank you for the tip. Any other ideas? I heard XP runs better with more RAM. It started when I loaded critical updates for MS Office, which I use for my classes at school. I heard also that Office works better with more RAM. I have done a complete system virus scan and also used Spybot. Thanks again!

Many recommend 512mb.
The msconfig app, not sure in which prog.group its contained, shows yr
start-ups and also enables you to stop an app starting. Try to determine
what the app is before stopping - you may need it running -
You can re enable.
AdAware is also useful to use, in conjunction with SpyBot

Thanks very much! I will look for Adware and hopefully this summer, upgrade the RAM.
