As anybody had a problem like this, I just loaded an OEM version on of XP and
I am now trying to load Office 2003 onto the computer. When I try to install
the program, it defaults to loading on Drive D, created by OEM and then says
"not enough memory to carry out this task", I have tried to get it to load on
drive C, but without success.

Any pointers to a solution would be great.

Suggest you use the "custom" install option when doing install of Office
(for that matter, most any program).
Then look at what it presents for choice of "install folder". Then change
it to where you desire.

For an example, instead of C:\Program Files\yada--yada
change it to X:\Myfolder

The message "not enough memory to carry out this task" is ambiguous, imo.
Use Windows Explorer, and check on free space on all your local disk drives.
