Memory problem

I have a packard bell imedia 4606 128mb sdram I am trying to put a 512 mb
sdram in and all it will go to is 128 mb if I put both in ie 512 mb & 128
mb it says 256 mb anyone help pls
 
Apparently, your Packard Bell PC will only support up
to 256MB of RAM. Therefore, you can only install
another 128MB of RAM.

Every web site I visit states your Packard Bell imedia 4606
only supports 256MB of RAM.

It may not like mixing modules of different sizes - or may insist on
their being in specific slots. Try first with just the 512 one on its
own
